24x110 mesh/0.36x0.25mm filter mesh parameter analysis

24x110 mesh refers to a mesh with 24 warp wires per inch (25.4mm) in the weft direction (width) and 110 wires per inch (25.4mm) in the radial direction. Typically, we use 0.36mm warp wire (lengthwise) and 0.25mm weft wires (widthwise), weaving them above and below each wire, closely spaced to form a tight mesh structure.

1. Mesh shape: Distinct, narrow slit-like mesh.

2. Surface Texture: It has a metallic luster and is smooth, but with a slight unevenness due to the interlacing of warp and weft wires.

3. Overall Form: It typically comes in rolls or sheets. The mesh has good integrity, is not susceptible to mesh deformation, and possesses a certain degree of rigidity and flexibility.

The thicker warp wires provide a supporting skeleton, preventing the finer weft wires from shifting or deforming under pressure, giving the mesh high stability and strength.

While ensuring strength, the fine radial weave creates finer filtration gaps, while the relatively loose weft arrangement provides good fluid permeability (openness).

 

When a fluid (gas or liquid) carries solid particles through a woven mesh, the mesh pores act as a precise "ruler." Particles larger than the mesh width are directly trapped on the mesh surface, forming a filter cake. Particles smaller than the mesh width pass through with the fluid and enter the downstream stream. For dutch mesh, the filtration efficiency of the mesh is generally expressed in terms of absolute filtration rating and nominal filtration rating:

 

Absolute filtration rating: 117-131μm.

This guarantees the retention of all particles larger than 117-131μm. Providing precise and measurable filtration efficiency, it removes 99.9% or 100% of particles larger than 117-131μm.

Nominal filtration rating: 97μm

97μm is the average pore size for this dense mesh. While it may not be the best data for maximum particle penetration, it is the most reliable and repeatable statistic and provides the best prediction of the expected value for any given sample of this mesh.

High-quality 24x110 mesh stainless steel filter mesh features precise mesh size and a tight weave. The mesh surface is uniform and smooth, without any undulating edges. The smoothness is shown in the image below. An Italian customer once asked us if the image had been Photoshopped and even traveled thousands of miles to our factory for a random inspection.They had received a mesh with undulating surfaces, rendering it unusable in production. This was a painful lesson for them. While traditional mesh weaving machines are prone to uneven screens, a multi-roller weaving machine can solve this issue.
