Supply System --- Dashang Wire Mesh

Supply System --- Dashang Wire MeshFirstly, regarding the raw material of stainless steel mesh, which is stainless steel wire, we will focus on four aspects: raw materials as the cornerstone of quality, stringent material selection standards, differences in finished product quality, and Dashang's quality commitment, introducing the quality differences of stainless steel wire.

Raw materials as the cornerstone of quality: The superior performance of stainless steel mesh stems from the inherent quality of its raw material—stainless steel wire. The quality of the wire fundamentally depends on the purity, uniformity, and consistency of its raw material wire rod.

The quality differences of stainless steel wire are drastically amplified during the wire drawing process.

1. The quality differences of stainless steel wire are mainly reflected in the purity, uniformity, and consistency of the raw material wire rod. This is crucial in determining the performance of the final product.

2. Wire drawing is the core process of processing wire rod into wire. This process drastically amplifies minute defects in the raw material, such as inclusions, surface imperfections, and uneven structure.

3. Minor defects in the raw material may lead to problems such as wire breakage and surface defects during the wire drawing process, directly affecting production efficiency and the quality of the final product.

Strict Material Selection Standards

Stainless steel wire produced from Nippon Steel in Japan, for example, boasts ultra-high purity and uniform microstructure. During high-speed, high-deformation drawing processes, it exhibits extremely low breakage rates and minimal die wear, enabling higher drawing speeds and more stable production. It is generally used for drawing extremely fine stainless steel wire. (Due to its superior performance, Dashang makes it ideal for producing ultra-fine stainless steel wires below 0.04mm, and is the cornerstone for manufacturing high-precision stainless steel mesh (300 mesh and more fine mesh).

Stainless steel wire produced from Tsingshan Steel exhibits excellent performance, performing exceptionally well for standard specifications and requirements. Even when drawing extremely fine wires or under extremely demanding conditions, wire breakage is extremely rare. The Tsingshan Group possesses large converters/AOD refining furnaces, allowing for precise control of the chemical composition of stainless steel. It maintains extremely low and stable levels of impurities such as carbon, sulfur, and phosphorus, resulting in high steel purity and a stable microstructure. When drawing finer stainless steel wires, it exhibits low breakage rates and minimal die wear, demonstrating stable and reliable performance in mechanical and corrosion resistance tests. (For coarse woven wire mesh, Dashang primarily uses stainless steel wire from Tsingshan, ensuring high quality while providing customers with more cost-effective products.)

Most ordinary steel mills use medium-frequency furnaces, which have relatively limited refining processes and make it difficult to deeply purify raw materials. During the drawing process, wire breakage and cracking are common, leading to frequent downtime, low production efficiency, and severe die wear. While the produced stainless steel wire may meet nickel and chromium standards, its chemical composition and physical properties are unstable, and the surface may have scratches.

Differences in Finished Product Quality

What are the differences between stainless steel mesh produced using different grades of stainless steel wire? Besides the inherent difference in chemical stability, we can also distinguish them by the mesh surface: For example, 500-mesh stainless steel mesh: High-quality stainless steel wire produces a bright, smooth surface with uniform color, and the mesh openings are more uniform under high magnification; conversely, stainless steel mesh produced from inferior stainless steel wire has a dull surface, and large and small holes are visible under high magnification.

For example, stainless steel crimped wire mesh requires the stainless steel wire to be crimped before weaving. High-quality stainless steel wire maintains good performance even after crimping and bending. Conversely, inferior stainless steel wire, although the woven mesh may look the same after crimping and bending, is more prone to rust or corrosion when exposed to humid or acidic/alkaline environments for extended periods.
