The price of Φ5.5mm hot-rolled stainless steel wire rod in Qingshan generally declined from 2023 to 2025, but rebounded sharply in January 2026 at 304.

I. Price Fluctuation Overview (RMB/ton)

• 304: January 2023: RMB 17,100 → December 2025: RMB 12,900, a cumulative decrease of approximately 24.6%; January 2026: rebounded to RMB 14,600, a month-on-month increase of approximately 13.2%.

II. Stage-by-Stage Fluctuation Characteristics

• 2023: A unilateral downward trend throughout the year, with 304 falling from 17,100 to 13,500, a decrease of approximately 21%;

• 2024: The downward trend continued, but fluctuations narrowed, with 304 falling from 14,000 to 12,700, a decrease of approximately 9.3%;

• 2025: Low-level consolidation and bottoming out, with 304 fluctuating between 12,700 and 13,900, followed by a slight rebound at the end of the year;

• January 2026: Compared to the end of December 2025, the price of 304 wire rod increased by RMB 2100 per ton, and the price of 316L wire rod increased by over RMB 3000 per ton. Price levels have returned to those of early 2024. Due to significant price fluctuations in January, the future price trend will need to be observed after the Chinese New Year holiday.

For stainless steel mesh, especially heavy-duty mesh like 12x64 mesh or mesh4x1.6mm, the price will increase significantly because the mesh is very heavy. For lighter meshes like 325 mesh, the value lies primarily in the manufacturing process; the mesh is very lightweight, so fluctuations in raw material prices have less of an impact.
