A good mesh surface 

The mesh surface should be flat, clean, with tightly arranged weft wires, no gaps, no mechanical damage, creases, and rust spots.

A bad mesh surface

A bad mesh may have wavy edges on both sides, oil stains, mechanical damage to the mesh, etc.

When the nominal aperture is less than 30 microns, it should be tested in a black chamber on a ground glass inspection table with a uniform light source. The main focus here is on detecting bright spot defects in stainless steel filter mesh.
